Wuhan Research Institute of Materials Protection (RIMP) founded in 1953, belongs to China Academy of Machinery Science & Technology which is under the charge of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
RIMP has a lots of professors in the field of surface engineering,including more than 40 professors, 80 advanced engineers,and 15 experts who are awarded to enjoy different levels of governmental subsidies. Moreover,RIMP owns the qualification to confer doctor`s degrees and master`s degrees. As a new high-tech enterprise , RIMP mainly involves R&D of process、materials and equipments used for surface treatment,testing of surface coating performance and production`s quality, and design& construction of surface protection project.
RIMP specializes in the field of electrodeposition,chemical deposition,plasma surface technology,coating& painting,anti-rust packaging,chemical conversion treatment,chemical heat treatment,thermal spraying(welding),laser surface modification,corrosion inhibition technology,friction &wear,corrosion in different environments as well as surface protection engineering, etc. RIMP has already undertaken a great batch of national、provincial and municipal research projects, such as MOST’s "973"and "863" programs as well as national defense projects. Since the establishment,RIMP has already made more than 600 items of scientific& technical achievements, most of which reached international and domestic advanced level, got promotion application in the market and obtained different levels’governmental awards as well as national patents
